Do you believe in magic?
Not the fantasy kind — though I’m not ruling that out either.
I’m talking about the kind that’s happening all around us, all the time.
The beauty. The wonder. The unexpected moment that stops us mid-breath and whispers… pay attention. Something beautiful is happening right here.
I was in Hammerfest, Norway, walking up a path completely by myself into unknown territory — which, honestly, is exactly how I travel. I ask for wonderment. I ask for adventure. I know growth happens outside our comfort zone… although I don’t specifically ask for that part. Hello.
And then I mostly say yes when those moments appear.
That day, magic showed up as unexpected warm weather… and a family of reindeer.
And something inside me became completely still.
Not the stillness of emptiness. The stillness of fullness. The kind that reminds us life is so much more magical than we often allow ourselves to see.
I don’t believe magic is something we have to chase, force, or manufacture.
I believe it’s always here waiting to be seen.
In every sunset we almost rush past. Every conversation that touches our soul. Every stranger who says exactly the right thing at exactly the right time. Every moment that reminds us we are part of something far greater than we’ve been taught to believe.
It’s all happening. All the time.
I challenge you — and myself — to be present to the magical moments surrounding us.
If this sparked something about what’s possible when you step into the unknown, read On the Other Side of Fear — because wonder and fear cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
And if you’re ready to start saying yes to more moments like this, Do Something Different is a beautiful place to begin.
