Have you ever wondered why some people just seem to get everything they want while others struggle?

We all have thought patterns that we have had for a  long time. Often these thought patterns can be traced back to a very young age, when the thought was birthed. They might even be traced to a past life experience.

Once a thought is birthed, we may live many experiences that seem to reinforce them.

A common thought for me and others is the thought of not being good enough. I can track that thought back to the age of four or five, when I didn’t get attention from my mom, and my dad wouldn’t let me take a baby chick with me when we moved. For others the thought of not being good enough was birthed through abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Experiences that support the thought of not being good enough might be; the ending of a relationship, losing a job, not having friends or not feeling loved.

I remember after my first husband left me, I felt I was unlovable. That experience really anchored the thought of not being good enough into my consciousness. I later dated several men who “left me”  further supporting the not being good enough thought.

Why would they stay? I expected them to leave. I bought into the idea that “I wasn’t good enough.” At the time, I was unaware that I had a choice in what I thought and believed.

When we choose to have different thoughts we can have different experiences.

If we say we catch a cold every winter, the odds are we will experience a cold. If we believe that we are healthy and never get sick, that is usually the experience we will have. It’s important not to take on any shame or guilt from our past experiences; rather pay attention to current thoughts and realize that we have a choice as to what they are.

If we want a different life, we have to believe that we are worthy of a different life; then imagine that life with passion, visualization and detail, and watch its creation.

Today, I pray we step into our creative heritage with passion and an unlimited imagination.

And so it is!
