I was pulling weeds the other day and thought about my dad. He taught me so many things, one of which was “how to pull weeds”. He would tell me that you can’t just pull what you see, you have to pull what you don’t see, the roots. If you don’t get the entire root, the weed will grow back.

Negative thoughts are like weeds, if you don’t get to the root of it, the negative thought just keeps coming back.

One of the deepest rooted thoughts we have is the thought of not being good enough. That includes thoughts of not being; strong enough, young enough, healthy enough,  pretty enough, coordinated enough, fast enough and the list goes on. These roots include all thoughts about “enough”, not having enough money or hair, big enough house, nice enough car, good enough grades, good enough job and the list could go on and on.

This thought of not being good enough is quietly passed down from generation to generation.

I could see this thought show up in my dad when he had to beat my brothers at arm wrestling. I could see it when, as a family, we played games and everyone desperately wanted to “win” as if our value depended on it. I have watched this thought being passed down in my family and many others alike.

Let’s pull the root! We have erroneously believed we weren’t/aren’t “good enough”. We now get to realize our error in thinking and pull up the root of “not good enough” and step into our divine nature. We are amazing, awesome, miraculous creative energy.

The roots of this “not good enough” thinking have infiltrated into all aspects of our lives.
