Do you remember what it was like to be young? To look at the world with curiosity, excitement, and childlike wonder?
Walking along the beach in Southampton, I spotted a tiny footprint in the sand and found myself remembering what it felt like to experience the beach when I was young—the waves, the shells, the crabs, all of it. Everything felt new. Everything was something to discover.
Be childlike. No matter how old we are, we can choose to experience life with fresh eyes. We can slow down, become present, and notice the beauty and wonderment in ordinary moments instead of moving through them without really seeing them.
Mindfulness doesn’t always have to mean sitting quietly in meditation. Sometimes it’s simply looking around and experiencing what’s right in front of us as though we’re seeing it for the first time.
Today, wherever you are, look again. Notice something new. Experience the moment with fresh eyes, childlike eyes, and remember the preciousness that’s already here.
Awaken. Embody. Expand.
