God is speaking to us all the time. Are we listening?
One of the ways God speaks to us is through the spirit of animals.
I love animals and birds! Whenever a particular species shows up, I am first grateful and then inquisitive. I wonder what I can learn from this bird or animal and what message they might have for me. For instance did you know that skunks only raise their tail and spray as a last resort? At home, I watch them pass right outside my sliding glass door. They can see me, they hear my dogs bark, but they don’t mind they just walk on by. So they are a great example of not being reactive or taking things personal.
We can learn to have more fun and not take ourselves so seriously from squirrels. They run, jump and play all day long. They are so fun to watch. I don’t think there is an ounce of fear in squirrels.
Eagles are great examples of courtship, monogamy and parenting. Their mating dance in the sky could inspire any lovers. They mate for life and both take care of the young. Eagles are so proficient at hunting, that they have plenty of time to playfully soar through the skies.
There is so much written about animal spirits. One of my favorites is “Animal Speak” by Ted Andrews.
All living creatures are gifts from God. With an open heart, we can learn so much from them.
Today, I pray we see the Spirit of God in all.
blessings & love,
Until next time, be Radiant, Radical, & Real!
