How do we know whether we are coming from a place of ego or a place of Divine Self?
When you think about it, it’s pretty easy to discern. When we think we are separate from others, that’s the ego; comparing, taking things personal, feeling competitive, feeling resentful or vengeful, not feeling valued or good enough, is ego, or small self thinking.
When we are feeling love and connection to everything and everybody and operating with a win win frame of mind, that’s the Divine Self. Our Divine Self is rooted in proactive love. Love just flows naturally.
Until we master living from this Divine loving space, we get to practice choosing our thoughts and behaviors. As we practice letting go of our outdated stories and beliefs, and practice breathing in the awareness of our Divine nature, our life becomes nothing less than an alchemic adventure; as the old falls away unlimited possibilities arise.
An example of choosing Divine over ego self is, if someone is arguing with us, we pause and ask “Is everything alright, because I really love you (care about you).” The first time I practiced this, it was like eating dirt, because someone arguing with me, fed the “not good enough” in me and I wanted to lash out and be “right” making them “wrong”. After the initial dirt eating, a miracle happened, the energy between us dramatically changed from a sense of confrontation to a sense of communion. A sweetness took over the taste of dirt with a sense of conquering an old reactive way of being.
I never said it was easy.
I do say it’s a choice, every moment of every day.
Today I pray that we choose Divine thinking, seeing, and being.
And so it is!
blessings & love,
Until next time, BE radiant, radical & real!
