enlightenment

While in Sedona, AZ, I visited a Stupa, a Buddhist temple of which many sacred relics had been placed within as love offerings and sealed up. As I walked around the Stupa in prayer and thanksgiving, I could feel the sweet energy of the accumulation of love for this space.

Siddhartha (Buddha) is a beautiful story of a man who went on a long journey of the soul. He left the wealth and comfort of his home and family on the search for true enlightenment. He experienced hunger, homelessness and loneliness only to find out that enlightenment is within.

When he returned home, his family asked him why he had to leave and he shared with them that he didn’t know that he didn’t have to. That everything he was looking for was inside of him all along.

The truth is we can travel far, eat, drink, change partners, jobs, cities, or countries, only to come to the realization that we own our happiness, nobody or nothing can give it to us. The sooner we realize this, the easier the journey.

Today, I pray we feel enlightened with the divine love and peace that resides within.
