What do we really want?
Sometimes we don’t follow through with our goals because they are not in line with what we really want. We can set goals that are based on what we think we should do or want instead of on our heart’s true desires.
Naturally our thoughts are all based on the past. We stand on a mountain of past experiences, not just ours, but our ancestors, and the consciousness of the world.
In traveling to Bali and China, I noticed how different their past experiences have been. Their ideas and customs are so different from ours in America. Some have never left their village or town and for some, the thought of leaving isn’t even in their consciousness.
So my questions are:
What do you really want?
What’s your purpose?
What are you passionate about?
When we put our passion behind our goals, and create an environment that supports those goals, that’s when achievement happens. That’s when we are living a life of passion, change, and excitement.
So instead of resolving to lose weight, how about setting a goal of have more active fun with friends. Then, start filling up your calendar with hiking trips, bowling, frisbee, dancing, roller skating, laser tag, yoga classes, basketball, softball, or walks. Even if we are challenged with physical limitations, we can always do something. If we always do what we always done, we will always get what we always gotten.
Instead of saying what we are not going to do, we can focus on what we are doing, like “I am eating foods that are nourishing and healing to my body.” When we talk as if it is happening now, we are more likely to start now. Don’t wait to create the life you say you want. Do it TODAY! Every action and thought takes us closer to what we want or further away from what we want. We get what we focus on, so let’s focus on what we want.
Today I pray, we give our heart permission to speak it’s truth and we take action on that truth. May we feel love in every fiber of our being.
