Mirroring is seeing aspects in others that we see in ourselves, if “you spot it, you got it.”

You will know someone is mirroring something, when there is an internal charge within you. In other words it’s not just a passing thought. The charge may come from a place of irritation or appreciation, both are opportunities for growth.

Here are some questions we can ask ourself:

  1. What is the behavior or attitude that is causing the emotional charge?
  2. Who else have I see this behavior or attitude in?
  3. When is the first time that I remember being aware of this behavior or attitude?
  4. When have I seen this behavior or attitude in myself?
  5. What thought pattern ((self worth, abandonment, not enough good enough) is under the behavior or attitude?

We can’t change what we aren’t aware of. Once we are aware of our past or current behaviors, we can take a step in accepting and loving ourselves and others.

Jesus talks about loving others as we love ourself. The truth of the matter is, we can’t love others unconditionally until we love ourselves unconditionally.

Today, I pray that we choose love, acceptance, and appreciation over judgment and criticism, for ourselves and others.

And so it is!
